Planning and Scheduling Instruction
(Ontario, 2019)
  • Teacher should organize the environment so that it creates space and allows for movement, while ensuring the student is comfortable, accessible, and safe.

  • Create a routine in your lesson plan that students can easily follow from start of instruction to clean-up

  • Provide specific instruction for students

  • Collaborate with colleagues and mentors when planning instruction, evaluation, and reporting

  • As per the curriculum expectations, students are required to incorporate atleast 20 minutes of daily physical activity (DPA)

    • This can be done cross curricular with other subjects in a variety of ways.

  • When planning for students who have special educational and physical needs it is advised the educator references their Individualized Education Plan (IEP) for further instruction and inspiration on how to modify/alter the lesson to better suit their needs.
