Philosophy

Health and physical activity is one of the underrated lifestyle changes we often believe we want, but in reality we need to survive. Our body is made up of systems that interact with each other similar to our interactions with other individuals. We choose who we interact with-the same way we choose what goes into our bodies and minds such as food, nutrients, vitamins, substances, and conversation.

Educating ourselves and treating our bodies with the respect that it needs while providing it with fruitful experiences, can enable us to find balance in the things we consume while leading a healthy lifestyle. As a result, taking on the saying 'Your body is a temple' is appropriate here because it illustrates that there is intention behind what we do and place into our bodies.

Using a play-based pedagogy,  we will use this to integrate concepts in the process of learning.  Within this subject, we will strive to help students connect with their emotional, physical, spiritual, and intellectual selves, as well as with their peers and family. The environment, whether it be indoor or outdoor will serve as the third teacher, having students draw upon their experiences and interaction between themselves, the classroom and their interactions with peers. Offering an environment where children are able to observe and take risks will be encouraged and celebrated.
